Rationale

The rationale behind the uprising demand of 4-years Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) in Pakistan is the streamlined requirements of the corporate realities and work processes within the professional world. BPS provides participants with the real essence of interdisciplinary in the field of practical study. Action-orientation and practical approach based learning linked with applied knowledge is the chief rationalization and whole idea of BPS programs. BPS programs offers highly tailored multidisciplinary specialized areas of the study that open an apparent conduit to professional career path.

Consequently, the idea behind 4-years Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) is to add value to the applied knowledge and learning of fresh high school graduates and current working professionals, so that that they can be specifically developed according to the professional workplace requirements. Moreover, unlike other undergraduate programs, BPS has distinctive outcomes in terms of developing research and critical reasoning skills. Participants exposed to experiential learning methodologies acquire the ability to solve real-world problems and communicate in an organized manner.  It offers participants a potentially life-changing opportunity to further develop their professional skills and position themselves for career advancement.

Program Objectives

Bachelor of Professional Studies at School of Professional Advancement aspires to become national frontrunner in:

  • Imparting learning by delivering higher education in action oriented manner to meet the needs of a complex increasingly non-traditional student population.
  • Supporting and serving a diverse population including part-time, older, and disadvantaged students, and others with specialized needs for education, professional development and career enhancement and fresh university entrants (first-generation students).
  • Ensuring educational delivery modes that challenge the conventional pedagogical approaches and make learners gain practical hands on experiential learning.
  • Scheduling patterns and using technological platforms to deliver instruction at times and places convenient for students and other clients.
  • Researching, developing, testing, and deploying technology to better serve faculty and students at all locations.
  • Serve students through clearly set goals, stated measures of accountability, assessment standards and methodologies.
  • Capitalizing upon the focused attention toward work force development, job creation, and job retention by providing lead in economic development of the country.
