Dr. Oluwarotimi W. Samuel is a Senior Lecturer and Research Group Lead at the University of Derby, United Kingdom. He leads interdisciplinary research focused on addressing key barriers to the real-world deployment of Cyber-Physical Systems, including Neural-Machine Interfaces, Assistive Robotic Technologies, Human-Computer Interaction Systems, and Intelligent Decision Support Systems.
He earned a Ph.D. in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Beijing, under the CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship. Prior to his current role, he served as an Associate Professor at the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and as an Adjunct Lecturer at Dongguan University of Technology.
He has led multiple international research projects and published over 100 peer-reviewed articles with more than 4,500 citations. Recognized among the “Top 2% Scientists Globally” by Stanford University, his research focuses on AI-driven solutions for cyber-physical systems. Dr. Samuel has received several accolades, including IEEE Best Paper Awards, the IEEE Outstanding Young Investigator Award, and a Merit Award for Youth Innovation Projects. He was also nominated for the STEM for Britain Award, where he presented his work at the House of Commons. He has served as a Visiting Research Fellow at several institutions, including Sapienza University of Rome and INTI International University.
Furthermore, Dr. Samuel’s unwavering commitment to promoting scientific research, fostering collaboration, and demonstrating leadership has led to his appointment as a member of the Global Young Academy; Associate Editor of Frontiers in Big Data; Advisory Board Member of the ELSP International Open Science Platform; Chair, Co-chair, and Technical Program Committee Member for various IEEE international conferences; and Distinguished Speaker at events organized by the United Nations (UN) and the European Commission (EC).
Dr. Saleh F. A. Khatib
Dr. Saleh F. A. Khatib is assistant Professor at the Faculty of Business, Sohar University, Oman. He holds a PhD in Finance from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), where he graduated with distinction, earning both the Chancellor Award and Dean’s List Award in recognition of his academic excellence. Currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at An-Najah National University, Palestine, Dr. Khatib continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of researchers. He also serves on the editorial boards of leading international journals, including Heliyon (Elsevier), Discover Global Society (Springer), and PLOS ONE (Public Library of Science). Formerly a Senior Lecturer at UTM, Dr. Khatib made significant contributions to the university’s research agenda in finance and accounting. His leadership in guiding postgraduate scholars, advancing governance research, and fostering academic-industry collaboration resulted in a strong legacy of scholarly impact and innovation. Dr. Khatib has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, with 65 indexed in Web of Science and nearly 50 in top-tier Q1/Q2 journals. His work addresses critical issues at the intersection of governance and sustainability, especially in the context of institutional reforms and market transitions and can be found at Business Strategy and The Environment, Management Review Quarterly, Journal of Environmental Management, Global Business Review, Corporate Governance, among others. He is the recipient of several prestigious honors, including the UTM Academic Award (2023), Wiley Top Cited Article Award, and the Indexed Journal Award.
